AdBlue Contamination

Well, what's the trouble with putting AdBlue in a diesel tank? Since AdBlue is mostly deionised water, it is like putting water in your tank. Diesel and water will not mix at all and trying to run a diesel car on water is not going to work. In addition to this, the urea is very corrosive to your fuel system hoses and seals and is susceptible to crystalising, blocking injectors and fuel filters.

If in case you put AdBlue into a fuel tank remove it at once. And most definitely do not switch on the engine - not even to move it away from the pump. In case you have started the vehicle you will most likely need to have the whole fuel system flushed and fuel filters replaced.

Fuel contaminated with water
